They are Back!!!!

Well guys this weekend saw the West Indies (my favorite team) beat Pakistan (India failed to do so) by 270 runs. What a test match for the West Indies. Finally, something to cheer for the supporters after a whitewash at the hand of South Africa.
The match saw Lara and Chanderpaul in sublime form. Lara was just amazing. I believe there is no better sight in world cricket that to see this genius bat. Danish Kaneria got a taste of him in this match.
The Pakistanis are cribbing about the fact that they had no Inzy or Youhana. I don’t care about that because they are known for it. All I care abouT is the fact that the West Indies have finally won a match against a well known team since 2003 when they beat Sri Lanka.
This was Chanderpauls first victory as captain and Lara just silenced all his critics, especially Ridley Jacobs.
I only hope that this form continues and they go on to win the series this weekend. It would definitely be sweet.

Reds are the CHAMPIONS of EUROPE!!!

It took them nearlly 10 years.... It took them a 5 year ban..... and now after yesterday's game they are finally the CHAMPIONS of Europe for the 5th time in their history. They are none other then LIVERPOOL FC (better known as the REDS)
Ladies and gentlemen last night all of us just witnessed one of the mot remarkable footbal matche which saw Liverpool comback from 3-0 down after the first half tp bea Italian powerhouse AC Milan 3-2 on penalities.
Liverpool were lead by there talismatic captian and England midfield sensation Steven Gerrard on this crucial and biggest night in Liverpool history. This match also witnessed the second fastest goal in the history of the UEFA Champions league final (51 sec by Paulo Maldini of AC Milan). Paulo Maldini also became the oldest player (age 36) to score in the final.
How Liverpool got back in the second half after being 3-0 down just shows the never die attitude of the team because to score one let alond three goals against the best defense in Europe is a tough ask. Hats off to all the players and most of all their manager Rafeil Benitez. He had lead Valencia last year to the UEFA Cup.
After 1984 this is the biggest night in Liverpool football history. It was only fitting fot Jersey Dudek (goal keeper - Liverpool) to be the hero in the penalty shoot out for he has been under severe criticism and also had pulled off 2 brilliant saves during normal time.
What was sad though was that AC Milan lost because Andriy Shevchenko missed the final penalty... actually Dudek saved it.
Istanbul, Turkey (a foot ball crazy city) really witnessed a historic match as this was the first time that a team came back from 3-0 down to win the final. A supereb match and now Liveropool need to carry on the good work into next season.
It would however be interesting to see if they are allowed to particpate in next seasons champions league though they have finished 5th in the English Prmeier League.
I hope next year its the turn of Manchester United as they are due for some trophies.... how i wish it would be them...
All the same... its an English club winning the league after 4 years and thats good for the game. Its also good that its not Manchester United as everyone across the world should recognise Liverpool as they are a strong force inEuropean football. The were sadly banned for 5 years after the 1984 match against Juventus where 30 odd fans of Juventus were kille din the stadium after Liverpool fans tried to barge into the Juventus stand.
Overall a great night in Liverpool and Football in general...
Hope MANU wins next year....
