ManU v Liverpool - A mouth watering clash!!

The FA Cup 5th round draws are out. And guess what, its Manchester United v Liverpool. What a match this could be.

For all those who missed out, not long ago on Jan22nd these 2 teams met at Old Trafford and what a game it turned out to be. Clear cut chances for both teams, especially Liverpool (Cisse) and in the end in the 91st minute against all odds, Rio Ferdinand put ManU ahead with a stunning header. That was the decisive moment and the match ended 1-0 in favour of ManU. To add to the drams Gary Neville (ManU captain) has been charged by the FA because he supposedly over celebrated the goal ion front of the travelling scouser fans by running the length of the pitch and kissing his shirt. The earlier match ended as a stalemate (0-0) at Anfield and it turned out to be a boring contest.

Why is this match so important for both teams? Let’s just look at some of the reasons:
1. These two teams have absolutely dominated English Football in the past 2 decades. Liverpool in the 80’s and ManU in the 90’s. It is believed that whoever wins this game eventually reigns in English Football, or so it was believed in those days.
2. With Chelsea sitting pretty at the top of the table with a 14 point lead it looks very unlikely that either of these 2 teams will stop them and so the Barclays Premier League is out of sight for both.
3. Manchester United is out of Europe, while Liverpool is out of the Carling Cup (the final is between ManU and Wigan).
4. Arsenal is fast losing ground in English football and this is the right time to consolidate themselves as at least the second best team in English Football this season.

Over and above all this, man its Manchester United against Liverpool. It is the the biggest rivalry in English Football. What more do you want? Want to know more, ask any ManU and Liverpool fan and they will tell you “It doesn’t matter if we don’t win any cup as long as we beat ManU / Liverpool”

So don’t forget to miss this mouth watering clash on Feb 19th 2006.

No points for guessing which team I am supporting. Its Manchester United all the way!!

Glory Glory Manchester United!!!

World Jump Day

Well this is not like any other of those days like Father’s Day, Mother’s Day etc etc etc. 20th July 2006 could just change all our lives. It is the World Jump Day. What is so special about this day? The same curiosity made me read more on this. So you also read on…..

Ever thought you can change the orbit of the earth? Well, that is what scientists from ISA/Muchen, Germany plan to do. Change the orbit of the earth.

How can this be done? This is the interesting part. We need 600 million people to jump at the same point of time in the western hemisphere on the same day and this will cause a shift in the orbit of the earth. This according to them will bring down the global warming levels and also the global climatic levels to more habitable levels.

Will this work? I don’t know. I am not a scientist. But, look at it this way. What if what they claim is true? We will have control over global warming levels, a more homogeneous climate etc etc.

The site also claims that more than 400 million people have already registered for this once in a lifetime event. They have provided the various time zones where this jump can take place. They also have shown videos of the impact of comet “Joulious” striking the Pacific Ocean and a seismograph reading of the effect of people jumping during the 2002 football world cup finals.

So what are you waiting for, if you are in the western hemisphere or plan to be there on July 20th, Go and Jump!!!
