Ramoji Film City
For the first time after coming to Hyderabad we had been for an outing. We went to Ramoji Film city on Saturday just to enjoy the entire day as it would be our last weekend at this place.
It’s a truly amazing place built on 2000acres of land. They have the sets for any kind of movie. Sets ranging fro Chor Bazaar, Any Indian or Foreign architecture, Foreign sets, hospitals, library etc. You name it and they have it. Viewing all this comes at a cost of Rs200/-. But it’s worth the money you pay. They take you in a bus on a free tour inside before they drop you at a particular point and you can go around and look at the place.
They charge nearly Rs 5 Lakhs for everyday of the shoot and one can use any set they wish to for that amount. It works out very cheap for the film producer and director. At the end of the day though the people are fooled that it wasn’t the real place that is shown in the movie, it makes sense as lot of expenses are saved. Also, when one gets a similar setting to the one they would get on going elsewhere, all the more better.
We also saw a stunt show by few of the guys who have acted in a few Bollywood movies and they gave a truly amazing performance. Very good coordination was required and they were up to it.
Overall it was a great experience and I finally leave a city that I hated very much with some sweet memories. But I still don’t like this place very much (lot of people may disagree but I think one is entitled to his/her own opinion).
In the end the punch line…
HAIL RAMOJI!!!!
